This video tutorial will show how to set up an experiment for the NGSS standard: 5-ESS1-2: Represent data in graphical displays to reveal patterns of daily changes in length and direction of shadows.
Using a Minion figurine (or a lego man, or even a binder clip!) you can set up a model to show how the Earth's rotation affects shadows throughout the day in a predictable pattern.
